As would be my luck, Hiroboy is currently out of Mr. so and so's primer. But this brings me to another question: the resin primer is dark gray, the real upside for me to use Tamiya's white was that white goes over white SO much easier than it goes over gray. In the past when I have used gray I had t...

I believe it is Tamiya tape. And in fact I used as little tape as possible to came into contact with the paint underneath. I use old plastic grocery bags to cover the mass and the tape right at the edge and still.... I had the same problem with a recently completed Renault and on a manga kit years a...

Help! Painting resin parts
Help! My paint keeps peeling off of my resin pieces when I remove the masking tape. I soaked the pieces overnight in tire bleach, I washed them, I let them dry, I hit them with several coats of Tamiya Fine White primer, I let that set, I paint the thing white, let that set and when I pull off my tap...

Do you use actual references for all the wiring or do you have a fairly good idea where everything should be from a mechanical mind? I'm an out of the box type builder and absolutely marvel at the details builders like you create. My mind reels when I see pics of the real bits and pieces and the tho...

Studio 27 Renault RE 40 South Africa version
The car that broke the hearts of we Alain Prost fans 25 years ago. My first mixed media build...think I might stick with plastic

Thanks! I wasn't even sure if you could use scissors! As it was, I tried a couple of different blades on my knife and some smaller scissors, but it looked horrific! The plastic one in it's place - to me - gives it a more glassy look. The way that vac looked, it looked like a cheap piece of plastic! ...

vac form wind screens
Can anyone clue me in on how to "cut out" a vacuum formed wind screen? I just had my first experience on a Studio 27 Renault RE 40 and it didn't go well - I pirated the plastic screen from a Tamiya RE 30b that thankfully fits. But I have a BT 46B and a 956B that come with those nasty thing...

Tamiya decals tend to bleed
Tamiyas decals have a nasty tendency to be too thin where white is concerned. Studio 27's are far superior. I have a question for the masses: do most of you put the decals on prior to finishing the enire model? I watched the video on YouTube of the Japanese fellow building an MP4/4 and was shocked t...
