Great work! That's a very clean conversion. I have recently ordered a set of the Indycal wheels to have a crack at something similar!

Re: Tamiya 1:12 1973 Tyrrell
I think you have to be careful with pictures of restored cars as they might not be entirely faithful. I would suggest looking on motorsportimages.com and revsinstute.org for contemporary pictures of the cars. For my money the inside of the cockpit cowling is black fibreglass, as is the inside of the...

Hi,
The glove manufacturer in your picture is Linea Sport. They mostly made wheels, but also made (branded?) gloves and fireproof underwear.
Hope this helps!

Congratulations on an excellent build - you've even managed to make those horrible Tamiya kit front tyres look right! Great stuff!

Nice start, looking forward to seeing this one develop. It's always good to see someone prepared to hack away at a resin kit to get their desired result, even if it's scary to do yourself!

Re: 1975 UOP Shadow DN5 correct wheelbase???
Well this is turning into a real mystery! My 1975 Autocourse states 105 inches for the wheelbase for the DN5, which equates to 2667mm in 'new' money. Interestingly the DN7 is stated as having a wheelbase of only 106 inches (2692mm), somehow I thought the Matra engine would have made the car more tha...

Re: BRM P83, Model Factory Hiro, 1/20
Marco The picture below is the only colour contempory picture of the part I could find and while yours doesn't look too far out, I would venture that the original colour is a little closer to duck egg blue. The picture below is from Mexico '66, from the Cahier archive, so it may have changed colour ...

Re: Shadow DN7 Matra V12, Jean-Pierre Jarier, Zeltweg 1975,
That's a great conversion of a rare and unusual car John! :D I'm particularly interested in the origin of the cam covers as I'm planning the same engine conversion, but with a different chassis in mind, so if it's possible to let me know where you got the P/E cam covers from that would be great! If ...

Re: MFH 1/20 Lotus 43
Well I have to disagree with the majority of posts on this thread, I'm really looking forward to this one! :D The 43 was based in part on the 38, but is probably better seen as the precursor of the 49, as it was a sweet-handling car with few vices, except that hugely unreliable H16 strapped to its b...
