Just my 2 cents. I first got introduced to Tamiya 1/12th in the late 70's. I remember reading an article where a model maker was interviewed. In this article it was stated that because of many factors is was very difficult to exactly reproduce a subject. Compromises are made based on factors such as...

Cool. I saw this car race at Watkin Glen in 1980. IMO, if you look closely one can see that this chassis was the forerunner of the Ferrari 126C2. Makes sense, since Dr. Harvey Postlethwaite designed both vehicles!

Well, it is certainly different. If Meng is enthusiatic about Senna how about a 1/12th MP4/5B to complement Tamiya's Ferrari 641.

For me, the releases of the Meng MP4/4 and Beemax Lotus 99T satisfies my modeling need. The only one I am interested in next is the Beemax MP4/4.

I don't think it's really lucrative for the manufacturers Tamiya and Co at the moment.
I agree. If Tamiya is not doing it they have done the research to determine it is not a value proposition.
