The challenge is to design the parts as best i can.
A printed kit is far away from shake and make for me.
For me is modeling right now to see a design growing to a kit which can be build. When the prototype is done i hardly lost the interest on it and than it's time to move to the next. That's real fun for me.I've seen your builds and there is great skill in what you do, casting and now printing your own parts is a fantastic skillset to have.

You mean the 1/20 Hybrid kit?
I can do it, but you'd have to wait probably until thursday or so.

Both McLarens look very good.

These dark color/silver color scheme are not easy to do.

It is quite a difference in size when a 1/24 and a 1/20 model are put side by side. The 1/20 model is so much bigger.

I still like F1 cars in 1/24 so that they can be side by side with my other sports racing cars. Unfortunately, the offer of models kits are very limited.

Both are quite nice and well built
And the Revell, well it's nice to see what a careful and inspired build can obtain form these unfairly usually treated kits

The Italeri McClaren MP4/2C is being expected at end of June. My understanding the pricepoint is $225.00.

Just to help clarifying...
A: Full length of chassis minus front front deformable structure
B: length of the top of the fuel tank
C:length from just behind roll bar to ront of rockers supports
D:length of rest of “monocoque” (that is not!)
E:length of chassis from the projection of top edge to the roll bar:
surely, A is the sum of B,C,D,E!
F: width of rear top edge of fuel cell
G:same at front
H: width of tb from edge to edge. It´s supposed to be the same all along, I guess
J: width of lower part of chassis where the wishbones go.
K:width of rear bulkhead.
L: width of lower segment of rear bulkhead. Probably quite similar to J
M: length (not heigth) of that segment of chassis
N:heigth of that panel of chassis
O: same thing..
P: heigth of chassis edge to the ground.
Q: heigth of that panel at that level.. it should match N, I suppose
R: heigth to the ground of that chassis front

Yes, I am a bit naughty in terms of thinking crazy projects.
One of my Protar 126C2, could end up losing its "2" and becoming Didier´s ride at the Jarama...
Nah!! joking, it´ll be Gilles´for sure, much that I appreciate Pironi too
Crucial parts of this build will be a new body... and a new chassis!
Then, well, even if I think I can easily guess most of measures of the tub, considering the Fujimi, for instance, is clearly short, I´d like someone with a MFH tub at hand to pass me (and all the group, in the same solidarity act) the measures seen here.



The measures with letters, please.
Obviously the credit for the drawing is for great Giorgio Piola. As you can see on the full drawing, well known from 41 years ago...



And that was "guilty" of some thousands of us wanting to study mechanics or engineering

The prices are awesome and I would be super interested in the Ferrari 248F1 2006 Brazil GP kit, but the shipping is just incredibly unattractive for shipping to Europe.Yes, THomas... those were the days when you had something brought across the pond for a few bucks

Very nice Builds both . You say not your best Work. Well, better than my mp4/13, had a huge Air bubble on top of the Monocoque at the mentioned white area .

MP4/2C

A few weeks ago we told you some things about the impressive McLaren Honda MP4/4 and today it's the turn of one of its predecessors: the McLaren TAG Porsche MP4/2C. It was the third evolution of the MP4/2, characterized by some changes in aerodynamics, which helped McLaren to take second place in the 1986 constructors' championship, with Prost and Rosberg at the wheel. Today it is unthinkable that a Formula 1 model remains collecting victories in the championship for 3 consecutive seasons, hence the huge importance of the MP4/2.

Italeri announced a few months ago that they were working on a 1/12 scale reproduction of the McLaren TAG Porsche MP4/2C, and today they have confirmed that the product is finished and will arrive at SpotModel in the next few days, from where we will be delighted to manage your order and send you one home. There are no specific third party products yet to improve the model, but you can accompany it with the volume 12 of the Ultra Detail Guides series by Komakai, the specific colors by Number Five and the set of seat belts for Formula 1 by Reji Models.

At SpotModel we keep counting the hours to see the result: tick tock, tick tock...

Nice work! I've never done those cars because the decals intimidated me too much. Yours came out great. Really nice especially on that tricky Revell kit.
Call me crazy but I actually prefer the look of the '98 narrow track cars to the wide track cars of '97.
