Thanks KB. That radius is a key part of getting this right. I very much like what you've done. I always thought this car looked so much better as the FW13 rather than B spec.

That Williams looks fantastic, really well done. Would love more info on the changes you've made. The sidepod shaping looks perfect. Good notification about the Barclay decals, hadn't noticed the length issue.
Please keep us posted on progress with this beauty.Hi,

Glad that you like it. I will start a thread when I've more time to devote to it. In the meantime, the modifications are very simple.

- Removed the inner sidepod ducts because they're moulded into the Monocoque. A bit of Sanding & a little Putty, it didn't take too long.

- I cut back the Sidepods & Floor to the "correct" length & profile (studied the few Pictures I could find & made an educated guess).

- The biggest Modification was the sidepods. When viewed from the front, the Sidepods have a large Radius. This shape extends backwards along the sidepod, upper edge in a cone shaped profile (ish). This was achieved by cutting a triangular shape into the Sidepods (highlighted in Green) & inserting some shaped Plasticard. Again a bit of Putty & some sanding. In hindsight, I could have made a better job of this but it's OK, I just feel that it could have been a little better.
Pods 30.jpg- Reshaped the front Wing Flaps using Plasticard, a small quantity of Putty & some sanding.

So far it's been pretty straightforward Really enjoying your project.

Questions • Re: Decal 1/20 Jordan 194, where to get???

F1M Forums - Mon, 11/28/2022 - 13:18
OK, let´s go with all the stuff.
Sorry not to step in before I was too busy fixing some wood plates at inimaginable places to stash up model boxes in a progressively more insane way
OK, let´s start with the bad news (in plural). Yes, there´s no smart way to scale up unless you have a good vectorial file. A bad image, even a good one, will lead us to a quite shittty result. No matter who prints it.
More bad news, though I seem to remember I had draught a good start for this sheet (I am interested in the car since 25 years ago) er... yes I lost the file.
Third bad news, that´s quite a really unpleasant decal set to make. It has literally TOOOOOOONNS!!!! of different logos.
Now... the good news.
Since I am really interested, this interest shown by other people could really trigger my creativeness and beat my natural laziness.
OK, Dede, let´s go for it! Thanks for the compliments my friend
I think I have a nice scan from some 4 years ago. It should be enough, so let's see if I feel capable of doing it this time.
AH! The fact decals are yellowed is not that bad: it might have to have a good scan where the white letters' shapes are clearly visible!
Stay tuned, I doubt there's any other possible source
BR
James

Thank you for your suggestion, but they don’t ship to the US. That is my problem. I know when I’ve bought from Model Space, I could always buy packs if something was damaged. Same with Pocher. I was hoping it’s the same with Panini and somebody could help out for a profit. They will turn up eventually on EBay. I am hopeful.

Oh, that's interesting. Sadly I don't have any of the parts to offer - I only have my barn find Pocher F40 sitting around collecting dust. A proper good F40 would be a dream. I need to have a look for the parts.
As an aside... some parts sets are available at https://www.panini.co.uk/shp_gbr_en/partworks/f40.html - 9 pounds per pack, so a tenner or thereabouts + shipping.

The paint dries outside in so especially on blues will “fog” the finish

I live in Houston and it is humid most of the year

All TS paints applied correctly, in several mist coats and several wet coats will get glossy, but not in the humidity, I paint in a 3rd car garage with an AC unit and Damp Rid, works great all year, but on super humid days it just won’t work

There are a couple of packs on ebay.it right now just in case you haven't seen them.

(for others who may be in a similar situation it is sometimes helpful to search the individual country Ebay sites as some sellers do not list internationally)Thank you for the suggestion. I check EBay daily for missing packs, and they will show up eventually. Just trying to close this out before years end.

I’m rebuilding 2 Pocher F40s with a lot of aftermarket parts, paint, TVF1 parts, etc, and this kit is a light year ahead. The paint could be a bit better, but I can bring that out. The engine is really nice. The wheels and tires are too. I’ve bought 2 extra sets for the Pochers and they retrofit without too much drama. They are taller and wider and fill the wheel well much better that stock parts.
