One of the best parts about the TCS series is the Concours event. Drivers take a lot of pride in the detail work on their rides, so much so that it sometimes makes it impossible to choose a winner. At Race #245 in Omaha, NE, these 4 drivers put in that extra effort and walked away with the Concours win. Let's take a quick look at their prize-winning rides!

Concours Winning Rides

Space!! In this Episode Dave, Ian and Julian are joined by Troy Henderson discussing building space models. In this fascinating episode we will try and cover off what models are available for you to build and how to build them.

We will also be looking at what is new in the modelling world as well as doing a little bit of house keeping from the last episode and some listener mail.

The second round of the TCS Regionals has concluded at the beautiful Hobbytown USA Hobbyplex raceway in Omaha NE. With over 107 entries, driver's not only had a chance to run on the beautiful black-carpet track, they also had a preview of what the 2019 TCS Nationals will be like.

That's right, August 22-25 will see drivers from around the US converge at the Hobbyplex for the 2019 TCS Nats.

But, for now, let's take a look at who the top contenders might be!

Which gentleman (or lady) will win the favor of our Lady Dixi? This Friday’s Two Make Gentleman’s Race will pit two cars against each other in a duel for the attention of our Lady Dixi. Will it be the incumbent Baron Viento or the newcomer Lord Guile? Come by Friday and race to find out!

This Friday night’s race starts at 8pm. Come by beforehand to pick up your kit’s body if you wish to paint it ahead of time. Choose between Lord Guile and Baron Viento, both are FMA Chassis cars so the competition should be fierce!

We will race everyone for themselves and possibly have a team race if the numbers of Barons vs Lords are evenly split.

Allied tanks in the battle of France. In this Episode Dave Ian and Julian are joined by Robert to have a discussion about the Allied tanks that were used in the battle of France. We talk about the actual battle, the tanks used and what kits are available to model this fascinating slice of history. 

Also we have a look at whats new in the modelling world with a run down of new releases for the Nuremberg toy fair.

The first TCS race of the 2019 Season kicked off at RC Car Worlds in Willingboro, NJ. Over 30 drivers were in attendance to fight for the top spot in the Euro Truck, Mini, F1, GT-1, GT-2, GT Pro Spec and GT Novice classes.

The battles were tight but, as usual, everyone had a fantastic time!

Held in Nuremberg, Germany, the Nuremberg Toy Fair is the largest event for all thing’s toys, games, and hobbies. For the past 51 years Tamiya has been a part of it introducing new hobby products to the attendees at large. This Sunday, Feb 3rd, (actually - every Sunday) Pacific Coast Hobbies will be holding a Mini 4WD race in their parking lot!

Track open at 11am, first race starts at pm.

If you don't have a Mini 4WD but have been wanting to try it, this is a perfect time! Mini 4WD range anywhere from $12-$20 and take about an hour to build - head on down, pick one up, drop in a pair of AA batteries and you're ready to race!

Painting and Weathering. In this Episode Dave has been called away to help with the bushfires so we have dug out an interview that we did way back in episode 9 all about painting and weathering. In the interview, Dave and Ian are joined by Chris Dowset to talk about painting and weathering.

Sprue Fest 2019 has come and gone - and what an amazing event!

Held at Brookhurst Hobbies, one of SoCal's premiere model hobby shops, the word on the street was that the attendance was going to be over the top! With Tamiya America being a main sponsor, we were able to help spread the word about this event and found the participation in the model contest to be overwhelming - 120 modelers showed up to enter their best work into the contest. A whopping 551 total entries were submitted, keeping the judges extremely busy the whole time.

In addition to the model contest, Tamiya America also had a nice display up with new kit releases, accessories, tools, paints and other finishing supplies. There was also a 3-lane Mini 4WD track on site with demos for people to check out.
