My method for bigger holes is to start with a small one in a twist drill (not a power tool) as a pilot then enlarge it using a rat tail file as a reamer, reversing the direction occasionally to keep the two faces the same diameter.Actual reamers tend to bight too much for my taste and limited skills. I have a couple of jewellers rat tails that are good out to about 4mm diameter and a couple of fine woodworking ones that are good from there out to 10 diameter. Tends to be a bit slow and tedious but delivers perfect circles every time.
Great WIP and lovely work you are doing by the way!

Thanks again guys, and thanks dmandam for your tech tip, I will certainly keep that in mind next time.

Minor update today.

Raised the suspension arm supports a few millimeters; they should be higher than the main "tub line".

Almost finished the roll bar (just needs some filling where the bar itself comes out). Some parts look a bit oversized, so maybe I'll do these again next week. However when everything will be painted in the same color I think it'll look okay.

On the real car the suspension supports are totally different than the kit parts, so I will try to recreate these later.

Hi,

This is a very beautiful build.
I love the way you add details and make all those lovely brass parts!

Great build indeed.
Bravo!

Thanks a lot Paul & Pascal!

Not much time today, but I had to recreate some of yesterday's parts because they were just a bit too much oversized. Before I knew it, two hours had past again.. But most important, I think today's result is an improvement compared to yesterday's.
The real thing...

Lots of drilling...

Decided to make each part of 3 separate panels. Yesterday I used only (bent) panel, but then you do a lot of work, finally bend the metal -- and if it doesn't fit exactly (they didn't), you have to start all over.

I think the gaps can easily be filled and the edges can be smoothed down with a Dremel.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all your comments.

Trying to get ready for the first coat of primer. Only difficult things left to do this time :|
Had to recreate the narrow piece of bodywork between the cowling and the suspension cover plate
