Re: JR Salvinos IndyCar
How close is this kit to actually being released?

Re: JR Salvinos IndyCar
After two more days at Indy the shock set on my sample seems to be the most common at least for oval setup, with the right spring being much heavier.

Re: JR Salvinos IndyCar
If these new IndyCars are successful, maybe we can see models of some vintage and classic IndyCars. I would love to see a kit of John Andretti's Skoal Bandit from his rookie year at the 88 Indy 500.

Re: JR Salvinos IndyCar
There are 1988 Lola kits - made by AMT. Before the Tamiya 93 Lola they were the best Indy car kits produced to date.

Re: JR Salvinos IndyCar
It is my dream that someone will do Champ car kits from like '97-'01 in 1/20th scale. Those M@r!b*r* Penske's and the Team Kool Green and Rahals with Kenny and Max in the Shell and Miller Lite Fords oh man that would be so much fun.
Re: JR Salvinos IndyCar
They did. Studio27 did a very nice IndyCar kit using the Reynard 98i chassis, in several liveries including the Target car, Players car, and aftermarket decals for the Valvoline version as well. They're hard to find now, but out there. I'm not aware of anyone doing the Penske PC cars in 1/20, although you could use a Tamiya Lola as a base for conversion...

I hate to do OffTopicking but also love to show sometimes some build and if it can bring some modeling mojo, then, win-win!
yes, the 1/20th Indycars are always a debate. So let´s hope this one brings some more of them.
At least some of the pre-90 ones, then some Lola 93 contemporaries, then some from the "split" era would fill some wish holes.
I understand some people would love to put them near their 1/20th F1s...

Re: JR Salvinos IndyCar
Its confusing because they also repackaged the Revell kit and made their own decals for a few years after this, presumably because sales cratered when you could get the plastic version.AJP01 wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2024 11:49 pm They did. Re: JR Salvinos IndyCar
Salvino's JR Models presented the carbon decals.
The manufacturer appears to be CARTOGRAF.
