Vickie owns an Alfa Romeo "Niki Lauda Edition" that is supposedly the same color as the Brabham Alfa Romeos. It's a "different" color red than I would have imagined.

What are the suggestions for airbrush and rattle can to replicate the correct Brabham-Alfa color?

Thank you in advance!
Sorry not to answer your question, but to comment on the car:

That's really cool! I didn't know Alfa ever did this version - looks from a quick search that it's US market only. Turns out they did a GTV "Mario Andretti" too. I wonder how many of these things there are left...

And Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red is probably a pretty good match but I'll leave that to the marque experts here!

If you want to see close up any parts, I will take photos.
Hi ,
Even it is not specially for me , thank you to share immediatly what we , overseas , have to wait some days or some weeks.

Please, could you manage to find the instructions paper of the Watson's version , and specially the parts list ?
Unfortunately, Hobby Search shows only Lauda's kit parts .

Another point : have you seen the French GP version ?
Here, there is a topic about it : http://www.f1m.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13814
Unfortunately all the pictures from Roland are now removed .
I hope he will find time soon to add some of them .
By your side , do you have , please , some of views of the practices version , which seemed to have a completly closed engine bay ( may be as the fan version ) but I do not have good pictures of this case ?
Indeed , any picture of the French GP version ( practice or race ) will be welcome .

Thank you very much in advance for all.

Bye
Gilles
Hi Gilles

Pardon my ignorance, what is so special about French GP car ? How different is it from Tamiya's kit ?

The French GP car is an odd mixture of The standard BT46 (Tamiya) and the BT46B Fan Car (Fujimi) so you would have to combine elements of both kits and do a little stratchbuilding. There is nothing special about the car, just that it has now become an interesting possible conversion exercise.

It's an "hybrid" version of the car, with front radiators (like Tamiya's kit) and part of the 46B rear cowling minus the fan. Very interesting one.

So, just the splined wheels with the cover as opposed to the older BT45 style wheels with the holes seems to be the only difference. With the choice to ignore those rear brake ducts and Lauda's little bit of corrugated cooling hose at the side of the roll over hoop.

Hi Paul ,

Thank you for this interesting link.
It is interesting for me because I think by observing the 2 parts lists that there will be another BT46 by Fujimi .
Why ?
Neither Lauda's version nor Watson's kit have a sprue called I
Will it be for the clear version ? Why not , but more probably not, if we have a look on the clear or skeleton versions already released : the clear parts keep the same lettering that the normal white , black or red parts .
Observing that for BT46B, all the specific parts as the cowling, the front nose , the fan and the front + rear wings and exhaust pipes have specific sprues : E , H , J and K ;
Remaining as "basic", we observe : the monocoque, the engine , the front + rear suspensions and the rear wheels + Watson's version front wheels , finally the tires ; sprues or parts : A , B , C , D , F , G , P , W and WA
What about WB : Lauda's version front wheels : generic or specific ? Anyway , not a problem here !
Image

So, adding the I parts ( new cowling ) + new front and rear wing sprues , and small other detailing parts , Fujimi will release another version of the BT46 .
What will it be ?

So please , Mr Sherlock Holmes or Mr Hercule Poirot find this enigma solution !!!!

Thank you
Bye
Gilles
