Hi Chris,
never give up!
Here are some pictures of 3d printed exhausts in the definitive version.
The first printed exhausts were too high and they were knocking on engine heads.
With the second printed exhausts I find out that the terminal part was overlapping the drive shaft.
Finally they are ok!
Now I admire even more ing. Lombardi , the father of Ferrari engine in '92...
He's not kidding when he says that he and his crew had almost gone mad in placing the exhausts on top of the double floor!
Here we go!

Hi everyone!
I've placed the exhaust in their housing.
I sprayed a gold cote onto them, but I'm not fully satisfied, maybe "too gold"?
Perhaps I'll try a titanium-gold cote, what do you think?
As soon as possible, I will make the exhausts available direcly via Shapeways, so whoever interested will be able to order them.

Pierluigi,
Your exhausts look good. Did you do any sanding, polishing or cleaning up of the parts before you primed and painted the parts or were you able to simply wash them and prime them?
Cheers,
Terry

Hi Terry,
I sanded the exhaust before priming, they are printed in "ultra frosted detail" with the best resolution possible but they are not perfectly smooth. I was also thinking of printing them in 7 or more pieces in order to sanding and polishing the half hidden parts in a better way.
Cheers,
Pierluigi

Thanks Pierluigi. You answered exactly what I needed to know. I've been thinking about getting some brakes printed by Shapeways and I'm tossing up whether to do it or not. Your tip making them as broken down sub-assemblies so it helps with clean up is something I'll think about in more depth. It certainly looks like it might be worthwhile me trying based on your exhaust pipe results.
Cheers,
Terry
Hi all!
If someone is interested, the exhausts are now available via shapeways.
I prepared also an "exploded" version, maybe better for sanding.

Thank you AJ!
I'd like to know your opinion about the exhausts once you get them.
Ti saluto anch'io.
