Rob Walker 72C latest and last update
Hello all,
Some pics of what I already done on the Ebbro Walker..As mentioned before It is painted with Tamiya TS55 and turned out just as I wanted it.
Still a lot of work to do but this is how far I came after tonight.

Re: Rob Walker 72C in Progress
Wow, that looks stunning and you work incredibly fast..!! Have you added anything to your build or is that basically from the box as it stands here..?? The engine looks very impressive

Thanks,no what you see is what was in the box..I will only add some lines and PE stuff from the scrap box ( fasteners, oil cooler mesh etc..)
I also have some other parts ready exept for the nose that need to be repainted .The version I make will be the Watkins Glen car # 14..

Hey jordan!
May I ask where you got the "Shell" decals from? There's one on each side of the car you're building, but only one present on the decal sheet...?
That blue looks really dark... It's horrible how off Ebbro is with the colour, on the box art and on the finished model pics, too.
What was your painting process? What primer did you use? Did you spray it with semi gloss black after primer and then TS-55 on top? Did you sand the black coat?
Thanks for your answers,
Andy

I'm wondering if the blue on this car ever changed..?? Some pictures of the real car show it very dark and others much lighter, more like what Ebbro show on their box art..AndyPerry wrote:

Re: Rob Walker 72C in Progress
Progress so far looks fantastic. Haven't started on a 72 yet but every build I see gets me more excited to start this kit. Wish there was more time in the day. Look forward to seeing more progress on this build.
Re: Rob Walker 72C in Progress
I don't know, but every "modern" photo I've seen of various Rob Walker cars (museum cars, etv.) all show them to be quite dark blue, so I really have no idea why Ebbro would want to paint their own model in the wrong hue...?SteveNoble wrote:I'm wondering if the blue on this car ever changed..?? I know jordan's research is second to none, so I'm sure his choice of colour has to be correct, I just can't understand why Ebbro dropped the ball so badly on this one...
