I'm building a Fujimi Porsche 917 and the paint instructions say to mix a colour (eg Tan) with "Flat Base" H40 which seems to be just flat clear. Various parts - wheels, wheel arches, gearbox. What is the purpose of this? Is it to thin the colour a little or to give a slightly matt finish?...

I also hope that the Lotus 91 is released soon, but then again Ebbro's Lotus 88 and 88B kits have not arrived here yet either, so I won't be holding my breath in anticipation...
