What is the correct color orange used on the McLaren MP 4/13 test car?
Here are several answers...
I have built several McLaren Can Am cars and have used Gunze "Yellow Orange". The color closely replicates the orange i have seen on McLarens at vintage races. If you want the real correct color, you could go to the Mathews Collection web site and contact them to see what paint and code they use.

Be very careful with this McLaren Orange. The modern MP4 test cars are NOT AT ALL the same color as the older Can-Am cars. Not even the orange F1 road car is the same color as the McLaren "orange" of the old days. The older cars were NOT a true orange. I do not know the exact color of the modern cars. For the old Can-Am cars, the best bet is a mix of MCW colors: 60% light orange/40% butterscotch.
I've heard McLaren orange described as closely resembling the color of a Butterfinger candy bar wrapper. When I visited the Donington museum a few years ago, I didn't have a Butterfinger to compare with the McLarens they have on display, but that seemed like a reasonable analogy. I'd start with Tamiya orange (X-7, I think it is), and add a few drops of yellow until you get the desired shade.
