GLUES: What's the difference between them?
Old fashion tube glue (Testors) is very strong but takes a long time to dry. This can be good or bad.It allows you to adjust the two parts if necessary. But you will have to hold the parts together for awhile until it drys.It is also stringy and can mar your paint if you aren\'t carefull. It won\'t glue painted surfaces together.
Liquid glue is good for parts that need to be held in alignment while being bonded. You can hold the two pieces together and place some liquid glue on the seam and the capillary action will draw the glue into the seam.
For plastic use Tenax 7R. Apply with a #1 brush. It enables the builder to weld carefully. Superglue is good for quick bonding. You won\'t be able to adjust two parts when using superglues. You can use a small amount of superglue which is great for tiny parts. It is very easy to glue fingers togeher with this glue.
Gel superglue will bond pieces that have small gaps in them. The gel will bridge the gap. These glues will bond painted surfaces. They will also fog clear plastic parts.
Two part epoxy is very strong and dries clear. It will not fog clear parts and can be used to simulate glass lenses on instruments. It is messy because it has to be mixed together and it is very thick. It can bond in five minutes but not instantly like super glue.
